While the brown shiny cockroach shivers his antennae to detect his night attack in the invisible crack of the kitchen corner wall,
Cats cry in their love fights below my balcony,
Whistles of the night watch men become less shrill,
Ants stop their march on the damp peeling layers of white walls,
The spider hangs lazily in her own web, disappointed,
The money plant’s new leaf postpones it's uncurling till next morning,
All the unposted photo postcards pose still on the soft display board
and window curtains murmur in their sleep,
I quietly pack it all,
tie a heavy rock on it,
drag it silently to the edge
and push it into the speedy strong current of the river,
without making the water splash.
so nobody gets to know!
I pack all the memories of the day
push them into the river of life with a rock tied to them
so they can never resurface
and thus get dissolved in time
slowly.
At times
when I am rowing frantically,
I still encounter them
floating on the surface,
hitting the shores
All swollen up
nothing can hold them back anymore.
I have failed
once more.
